Biography

Charles is a corporate, mergers and acquisitions specialist with a particular focus on the private equity, finance, retail, manufacturing, franchise and mining sectors. In addition, Charles advises on company and insider trading laws, corporate governance, warranty and indemnity insurance, mining and resources law, corporate and personal tax structuring, exchange control matters and estate planning matters.

Charles has extensive experience in advising international clients on their South African and African operations as well as on the acquisition and disposal of assets and operations in jurisdictions across Africa. He has advised on a number of prominent mergers, take-overs and joint ventures. Charles obtained his B.A. and LL.B. degrees and Mining Law Certificate and IT Law Certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand.
