Acknowledged in international publications based on peer reviews such as Best Lawyers, Lisa-Anne is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s leading employment and human resources lawyers.
Lisa-Anne was an Acting Judge of the Labour Court during 2019 and has chaired and been a key note speaker at several conferences. She is regularly published in respected online and print publications, and also frequently participates in interviews where she shares her extensive knowledge with listeners.
Lisa-Anne has a diverse legal practice in that she also has substantial commercial law experience enabling her to work closely with the boards of corporate clients to provide advice and strategic guidance in order to implement effective workplace management processes whilst maintaining productivity and decreasing labour risks.
In addition to her active practice, Lisa-Anne also heads up and manages the Human Resources Department of the firm.
Lisa-Anne’s extensive expertise lies in dispute resolution and settlement, all aspects of labour law litigation, including representation at the Bargaining councils and Labour/High Court, conducting and facilitating private arbitrations, chairing of disciplinary enquiries and appeals, drafting of all employment related policies and procedures, Employment Equity Compliance (including drafting of Employment Equity plans, submission of Employment Equity report and Employment Equity training), training in regard to workplace behaviour and the drafting of policies in regard thereto, training of managers on how to chair internal disciplinary enquiries, training of managers to ensure effective discipline in the workplace, drafting legal opinions, all collective bargaining matters, drafting project labour agreements, drafting collective agreements, urgent applications to interdict strike action, enforcing and opposing restraint of trade applications, advising corporate clients on the transfer of employees in M&A transactions, advising corporate clients on dealing with employees in business rescue/liquidation proceedings, advising corporate clients on restructuring processes in order to ensure effective use of resources within the business and reduction of costs, conducting investigations into sensitive discriminatory issues arising in the workplace, such as sexual harassment, racism and workplace bullying and conducting HR audits, and representing employers and employees in all employment law forums
Lisa-Anne obtained her BProc and LLB degrees at Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg).
