Darryn is an employment law specialist with extensive experience in contentious and non-contentious matters. His client list includes corporations of various sizes across all sectors.
Darryn’s non-contentious expertise relates to, amongst other things, assisting the firm’s corporate department with transactional work including transfers of business, drafting policies and procedures, drafting contracts of employment and restrictive covenant agreements, advising clients on restructuring and retrenchment exercises, advising on all aspects of discipline at the workplace, and on health and safety issues.
His contentious experience encompasses all types of employment litigation which includes, amongst other things, drafting pleadings and other formal process in both tribunals and the Labour Court and representing clients as counsel in both tribunal and Labour Court motion and trial proceedings.
Darryn frequently appears in Labour Court and employment law tribunals in South Africa and is also admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of England and Wales. He regularly contributes to articles and webinars which assist in sharing relevant information, such as offering a tool kit for employers and employees during Covid-19, the global pandemic and subsequent lockdown.
Darryn obtained his B.Com. and LL.B. degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand.
