The Fluxmans Legacy

More than a century ago, in the vibrant heart of Johannesburg’s legal and commercial life, a partnership between Adam B. and Alexander Brothers laid the foundation for what would become one of South Africa’s most respected law firms. From these humble yet ambitious beginnings in the 1890s, a legacy was born — one built not only on legal excellence, but on a deep understanding of people, progress, and purpose.

As the decades unfolded, the firm evolved — in name, in scope, and in influence. The mid-20th century saw a pivotal merger with Siegfried Raphaely, establishing the renowned name Raphaely & Alexander Brothers. The 1960s ushered in a new era as the firm adapted to the changing legal landscape, becoming Raphaely Weiner Rosen & Treisman — later shortened simply to Raphaely Weiner — reflecting its growing stature and streamlined identity. In 1990, another transformation took root. Merging with Fluxman Rabinowitz & Rubenstein, the practice embraced a broader vision and a new name: Fluxman Rabinowitz Raphaely Weiner. This period marked the beginning of a modern Fluxmans — bold, agile, and ready to meet the needs of a rapidly shifting world. By 2002, the firm had taken on its current name — Fluxmans — a refined brand that honours its history while looking unflinchingly to the future.

Where Heritage Meets Modern Legal Thinking
Today, Fluxmans is not just a firm with a proud past — it is a firm built for tomorrow. While our roots stretch back to the 19th century, our mindset is forward-facing. We are one of South Africa’s leading law firms, known for combining deep legal expertise with an ability to adapt, innovate, and simplify complex legal challenges for a diverse client base.

Our story is one of continuity and evolution. Of legacy and reinvention. We remain fiercely committed to the core principles that built our reputation — integrity, insight, and client-first service — while fostering a workplace culture that values mentorship, inclusion, and the transfer of knowledge across generations of legal talent.

At Fluxmans, the future is not an abstraction — it is a daily commitment. To doing better. To being better. And to carrying a rich history forward, one client, one case, and one conversation at a time.
