Biography

Lizelle has been recognised as a leading franchise lawyer in South Africa by the Who’s Who publication and by her peers in global publications such as Best Lawyers, for corporate law and mergers and acquisitions. She is a corporate and commercial law specialist with over 21 years' experience and a special focus on company law, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory, private equity, corporate finance, consumer protection, franchising, legal due diligence investigations and cross border transactions.

Lizelle advises on general company and commercial law including all legal documentation related thereto (MOI’s, shareholders agreements and the broad spectrum of commercial agreements), regulatory advice on compliance and liaison with TRP and JSE. She also assists with the drafting of franchise agreements and advice to franchisors and franchisees on all aspects of franchise agreements and the franchise relationship, as well as the drafting of commercial agreements to align with requirements of consumer protection legislation. Her expertise includes the negotiation of, and advice on, legal agreements pertaining to cross-border transactions.
